Scottish Civic Trust Invites Businesses to Take Part in Doors Open Days 2025

The Scottish Civic Trust is calling on businesses and organisations across Scotland to get involved in Doors Open Days 2025, the country’s largest free festival celebrating local places and stories.

This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to open their doors, host tours, workshops, talks, or other activities that showcase their spaces and connect with new audiences.

Taking part in Doors Open Days offers businesses a chance to welcome potential new customers, build community connections and gain nationwide promotion through the festival’s digital programme and social media channels.

The invitation comes following the publication of the Doors Open Days 2024 report, which highlights the impressive reach and impact of the festival. Last year, 976 venues across all 32 local authority areas took part, welcoming an estimated 179,147 visits.

Impressively, 30.4% of visitors were attending for the first time, and visitor expenditure during the festival was estimated at £2.3 million. The success of the event relied on the dedication of 5,465 volunteers who contributed over 25,000 hours. The festival’s website also attracted 1.5 million visits during the event period.

Since its launch in 1990, Doors Open Days has grown into a nationwide celebration, with nearly 1,000 venues participating each September. The festival encourages communities across Scotland to explore and celebrate their unique heritage through a variety of events and activities.
