Scotland’s Towns Partnership Representatives Respond to Westminster Towns Policy Report

Scotland’s Towns Partnership’s Chair, Professor Leigh Sparks, and Chief Officer, Phil Prentice, have responded to a report from the housing, communities and local government committee at Westminster on towns policy in England.

They suggest that while Scotland is still ahead of the curve on support for town centres and urban districts, the focus on towns must be maintained in light of new thinking south of the border.

The Scottish Government has also responded to the report, underlining the announcement of a £50 million capital Town Centre Fund as part of an ongoing committment to support Scotland’s towns.
