Lifeaid Defibrillators: Blackburn BID Case Study

Lifeaid Defibrillators, a new member of Scotland’s Towns Partnership, work with Business Improvement Districts and other local organisations to install public access defibrillators across the UK.

The company report that some 60,000 people suffer out of hospital cardiac arrest every year in the UK. With no defibrillator close by there is only a 5% chance of survival whereas with a defibrillator this rises up to 75%.

To overcome the funding challenges of placing multiple defibrillators in high-footfall areas, the devices are mounted to a large backboard which provide not only instructions on what to do in an emergency, they also offer a large display advertising space. LifeAID supplies and installs the defibrillators, as well as sourcing relevant and credible sponsors for the defibrillator stations.

In January 2020, Blackburn BID installed a defibrillator in the town centre. You can read more about this experience on this leaflet, or more testimonials here. You can contact the company here for more information.
