Aberdeenshire Council is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic officer to develop and deliver projects as part of the Council’s Regeneration Strategy principally in Peterhead.

The Council is committed to delivering regeneration and growth in its north coast communities and is well underway with the delivery of the action plan for Peterhead. The plan involves working with community groups and businesses to build on local assets and take forward various exciting projects which seek to develop the economy, the community and the environment of the area. The post holder will work with businesses, local groups and council colleagues to develop projects for funding from council and external sources working within a committed and ambitious team for the benefit of the town. The post holder may also be asked to work in other regeneration towns as and when the need arises.
The post holder will keep up to date with national bodies work on town centres and on sources of external funding for town centre work. As well as having project development and management experience, the post holder will ensure that communities are involved in the development of their town centres and that Council committees, partners and Councillors are kept informed of town centre issues and activities.

Requirements
The post holder will be educated to degree level in a relative subject or hold equivalent transferable skills. He/she will have experience in economic development and have extensive knowledge and experience of working with senior officers of key stakeholders in regeneration.
Experience of working with community organisations and multi –agency partnerships and working with and understanding businesses is essential with proven experience of developing, co-ordinating and managing a diverse range of economic regeneration programmes.
In addition they must have the ability to write clear and coherent complex reports for a wide range of audiences.
The post holder will have to be able to work evenings and weekend, when required, and travel throughout Aberdeenshire where public transport may not be available.
Although this job is located in Peterhead, working from any of the four regeneration towns can be arranged Banff, Macduff, Fraserburgh and Peterhead
