The Isle of Bute BID Steering Group has carried out feasibility work to determine the viability of a BID for the Isle of Bute. They now wish to recruit a Project Co-ordinator to take them through the development phase and to secure BID status for the Isle of Bute.
BIDs are a major new economic growth policy to Scotland. Originating in Canada, the primary aim is to give the business community greater influence in their area, to determine projects that they consider will improve their trading environment and which they will ultimately manage and deliver through the formation of a BID Company. BID projects seek to improve footfall, investment and help improve the economic, environmental and social vibrancy of an area.
You will lead a major consultation exercise to establish the issues and concerns and priorities of businesses, develop the BID Business Plan, lead the ballot campaign and all other phases of the BID programme of work to secure a positive ballot and the creation of a Business Improvement District. You will need to be the front face of the project and will need to be 100 % committed to the process.
You will be self-motivated, task orientated with a passion to succeed. You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, tact and diplomacy, project management experience and ideally have an insight into marketing. You will need to juggle a variety of tasks and work well under pressure. The post will be demanding but varied, with scope for personal development. This is a new and exciting business and career and is not a job for the fainthearted.
We can offer flexible working hours, and, if successful, the opportunity to develop your career in this new and expanding field. An excellent support network will be available as well, including from the local authority, Argyll and Bute Council.
