Elgin BID Wins Backing of Local Businesses for Further Five Years

Local traders in the Moray town of Elgin have voted to extend Elgin BID’s term for another five years.

The ballot saw 150 out of the 206 businesses who voted support the renewal of the town’s business improvement district, an increased ‘yes’ vote to 72.82% from 56.48% in 2014. Turnout of eligible businesses was 44.7%.

The result was welcomed by the Embrace Elgin team and Scotland’s Improvement Districts.

There are almost forty improvement districts in operation throughout Scotland’s towns and city neighbourhoods. These provide a mechanism for local businesses to work together with other public and private sector partners to improve local economies and communities.
